Yeah, the Dutch are the kings of the air

As it comes to performing tricks on a kite board, I’m in the beginning of it. I can do some jumps and perform the back roll; one of the tricks you can start with when you are comfortable riding and do little jumps and pops. Hope to grab the opportunity this summer on Bonaire to progress and learn more tricks. Definitely got inspired today ;-) by watching the live stream of the Red Bull King of the Air in Capetown, SA. This insane kite surf event is about making the craziest mega loops you can land. And they landed (and crashed) some big loops and jumps indeed. An amazing show of talent and fearlessness by the 24 riders. And yes! In the end there were three Dutchies in the final. Three awesome riders with completely different styles. Ride hard (Ruben Lenten) versus old school (Kevin Langeree) versus the short lines of Steven Akkersdijk. In the end the old school big jumps of Kevin nailed him the victory.

Next year I hope to be in Capetown to catch all of the action of the Red Bull King of the Air live. We did make it to Zandvoort for the Dutch megeloop event :-).
