Visiting well-known gems of the world, you are never alone. Nor are you with just a couple of people. Most of the times these places are packed with tourists waiting in line to get in. Everybody tries to make the same picture ‘holding’ the Taj Mahal, India, ‘walking’ the equator in Mitad del Mundo, Ecuador, or ‘leaning’ against the tower of Pisa, Italy. You really look stupid doing this and at the same time I think it is kind of funny. We made some of these pictures ourselves. So, with this mass tourism, should you even consider visiting these popular places? My answer is YES. Places like the Taj Mahal and Machu Picchu didn’t gain their fame for no reason. And despite the presence of fellow travellers, I try to soak in the special vibe that these places breathe. I enjoy the beauty, I visualize the stories that have taken place there and I feel the magic in my heart. Just before getting disturbed. ‘You want to have a tour?’ ‘You want to buy a souvenir?’ ‘You want to have a drink?’
